The Organizing Committee officially unveils the design of the medals today. “We explored different paths with a sense of responsibility,” says Giovanni Falcini, coordinator of the LOC and Ligurian President of the Italian Fencing Federation. “We paid the utmost attention to all the fundamental elements, to be included in the reward for the final effort of the athletes, who have undergone long preparation to be ready for the event in Genoa.”

Victory is represented by laurel leaves, the city of Genoa by the Lantern. Fencing is symbolized through a reinterpretation of the emblem that features the flag of Genoa with the Cross of Saint George, present in the act of the salute. White is the color of fencing: its uniforms and the purity this sport expresses in every gesture. At the center of the medal, the event’s logo ideally unites the city with fencing. The tricolor on the back frames the symbol of the European Fencing Confederation, which is blue, like the sea of Genoa and the flag of a united Europe.

The “Genoa 2025” European Championships, organized with the support of the FIS, are backed by the Liguria Region and the Municipality of Genoa, and sponsored by CONI and Sport e Salute. Partners of the 2025 Championships include Costa Edutainment, Banca Passadore, Saar Depositi Portuali, Toyota, Gruppo Spinelli, Iveco, Silomar, Riberti, Columbus Informatica, and Convention Bureau Genova.
